Halle Berry thriller 'The Call' debuts intense first trailer - watch
The film stars Halle Berry as a 911 operator who takes a call from a kidnapped teenager (Abigail Breslin) and is forced to confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl's life.
The trailer shows Berry's character Jordan answering a call from a distressed girl who has witnessed an intruder entering her house.
When the call drops out and Jordan redials, the tearful and terrified girl admits: "I think he heard the phone ring," before the stranger grabs the phone.
Jordan attempts to reason with the figure and tells them not to do anything rash, but he replies: "It's already done." She can then be seen watching a news report about the girl's death, one in a series of teenage abductions and murders.
After struggling with her mistake, Jordan is then forced to help out a colleague when a call comes through from another girl (Breslin) who has been kidnapped and is trapped in the trunk of a car. When the phone ends up in the driver's hands, she soon realises she is dealing with the same man.
Directed by Brad Anderson (The Machinist), The Call also stars Michael Imperioli and Morris Chestnut. The movie is scheduled for release in the US on March 15.
