Hugh Jackman at Golden Globes: 'I almost quit Les Misérables'

By
Hugh Jackman admitted that he almost quit Les Misérables during his Golden Globes speech last night (January 13).

The actor thanked his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, calling her "the greatest woman in the world" as he accepted his award for 'Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical'.

"If I forget to mention anyone, babe, could you come up and thank them after?" he joked.

Jackman admitted to his Les Mis director Tom Hooper that he came close to quitting the project after a disastrous early rehearsal.

"I really thought I'd bitten off more than I could chew," he said. "My wife talked me off that cliff, like she talks me most days.

"But baby, I'm going to say it now in front of the entire world: Thank you for always being right."

He also thanked the person who stole the wheels off his bike during his Les Misérables audition, promising to leave the frame in the same place for them.
