Golden Globes 2013: 'Argo's Ben Affleck laughs off Oscar 'snub'

By
Ben Affleck has joked about suggestions that he was "snubbed" in the Oscar nominations.

Several critics and fans have complained that Affleck was missed out of the 'Best Director' shortlist for his work on Argo but the 40-year-old laughed off the controversy backstage at last night's Golden Globes.

According to E! Online, Affleck jokingly told reporters: "I also didn't get the acting nomination. I noticed no-one was saying I was snubbed there."

'Argo' still

Affleck, who picked up the 'Best Director' prize at the Globes and last week's Critics Choice Awards, added that he is proud of Argo's performance in the Academy Award shortlists.

"We got nominated for seven Oscars," he said. "I'm thrilled. I'm elated. I'm elated tonight."
