Don Cheadle on 'Iron Man 3': 'Tony Stark is on existential journey'

By
Don Cheadle has hinted that Iron Man 3 will be much different to the previous two films.

The actor - who plays Col James Rhodes - suggested that the third Iron Man movie will see Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) pushed to the brink as his world is destroyed by The Mandarin.

"The tone is there's more of an existential journey that Tony's on trying to come to grips with this thing that he created that is creating him too," Cheadle revealed to E! News.

Cheadle went on to say: "Who's really in control? And the toll that it takes on his relationships. And then a lot of s**t blows up!"

Sir Ben Kingsley portrays Iron Man's foe The Mandarin in the upcoming movie, with Guy Pearce playing Aldrich Killian and Rebecca Hall as Dr Maya Hansen.
