The actor - who plays Col James Rhodes - suggested that the third Iron Man movie will see Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) pushed to the brink as his world is destroyed by The Mandarin.

"The tone is there's more of an existential journey that Tony's on trying to come to grips with this thing that he created that is creating him too," Cheadle revealed to E! News.
Cheadle went on to say: "Who's really in control? And the toll that it takes on his relationships. And then a lot of s**t blows up!"
Sir Ben Kingsley portrays Iron Man's foe The Mandarin in the upcoming movie, with Guy Pearce playing Aldrich Killian and Rebecca Hall as Dr Maya Hansen.

Gwyneth Paltrow returns to the role of Tony Stark's partner Pepper Potts, while Jon Favreau is also back as Happy Hogan.
Cheadle recently promised that Iron Man 3 will be "bigger and badder" than all previous Marvel movies.
Iron Man 3 opens on April 26 in the UK, and May 3 in the US.
