The actor officially joined the cast of Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez's sequel earlier this month, taking the part of a gambler named Johnny which had originally been offered to Johnny Depp.
"It's going to be fun. I'm playing a quintessential Rodriguez badass," Gordon-Levitt told MTV.
"I've made a lot of short films with [production company] hitRECOrd on green screen," he continued, "and in my opinion, Sin City is probably the best movie that's been made with that methodology. So I'm very eager to see how [Rodriguez] does it."
Speaking to MTV earlier this week, Rodriguez offered a few more details about Gordon-Levitt's role, confirming that Johnny is a new character and that his story will be titled The Long, Bad Night.
It was confirmed yesterday that Bruce Willis will reprise his role from Sin City (2005), while Josh Brolin, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Juno Temple and Ray Liotta are among the new cast additions.
