The Les Misérables actor has stepped in to present next Wednesday night's telecast on Channel Ten. He replaces original host Hugh Sheridan, who pulled out following a scheduling conflict in Los Angeles.
Crowe is already confirmed as host of the AACTA's International Awards in Los Angeles this Saturday (January 26).
"I'm equally honoured to represent the Australian industry in LA as host of AACTA's International Awards as I am to return home to celebrate the success of my peers at the 2nd AACTA Awards Ceremony in Sydney,'' he said in a statement.
"The ceremony will be entertaining and fast-paced, whilst honouring the fantastic film and television our nation is producing."

The AACTA awards are viewed as Australia's counterpart to the Academy Awards or Golden Globes, and were relaunched last year.
The Sapphires and The Voice Australia are among this year's nominees.
The second annual AACTA Awards will be held at the Star Events Centre in Sydney on January 30, 2013 and will be broadcast on Channel Ten from 9.30pm.
