The Devil's Rejects filmmaker said that there are no plans for a third entry in his series and distanced himself from a return to the director's chair should a new movie be announced.

"I don't think they are doing anything with Halloween at the moment," Zombie told SciFiNow. "That is the last thing that I heard."
He added: "I'm definitely not directing it if they ever do go ahead with a third movie."
Halloween rights holder Dimension Films previously announced a new instalment for release in October last year, but the project was put on what now appears to be indefinite hold.
Zombie rebooted Halloween in 2007 and released a sequel to his remake in 2009.
