Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained' tops Australian box office

Django Unchained has gone to the top of the box office charts in Australia.

Quentin Tarantino's Golden Globe award-winning movie grossed almost AU$4 million in order to top the charts in its first weekend of release.

Last week's chart-topper - Ang Lee's Life of Pi - slips one place to second position.

Other new entries in this week's top ten include The Impossible and The Guilt Trip.

The box office top ten for the weekend of January 24 to January 27, 2013 (all figures in Australian dollars):
