Elijah Wood to take producer role

Elijah Wood is going to take a producer role on his next film project.

The actor, who starred in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy and more recently in films such as Green Street, will work on the production of an adaptation of the 1953 novel Black Wings Has My Angel.

Written in the noir style, the book tells the story of a criminal who stages an armed robbery with the aid of a prostitute.

Wood told Hollywood Reporter, "I've always been intrigued by noir novels and noir films.

"I love that style and to unearth something from that era that hasn't been made into a film or is not a remake is really exciting. It's a lost classic."
