Rafe Spall has offered an explanation for his much-discussed death scene in Prometheus.
Spall's character Millburn was killed after attempting to make friendly contact with an alien during Ridley Scott's sci-fi thriller, in a scene which many viewers – including Quentin Tarantino – have mocked as illogical.
"I'm gonna clear this up once and for all," Spall said, when asked by Digital Spy why his character had decided it was a good idea to try and stroke a vicious-looking alien.
He goes on to describe a deleted scene which would have made sense of Millburn's behaviour, comparing his character to David Attenborough.
Rose Byrne also confirmed that she doesn't yet know whether she will reprise her role as Moira MacTaggert in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
