Gareth Evans's sequel to his critically-acclaimed action thriller The Raid began production this weekend in Indonesia.
Iko Uwais reprises his starring role as rookie police officer Rama in the sequel, which picks up directly after the events of The Raid.
Rama goes undercover in a Jakarta crime syndicate in order to protect his family and uncover the deeply-entrenched corruption within his own police force.
Evans told Digital Spy last year that The Raid 2 would be more complex and on a much bigger scale than the first film.
The Raid 2 is scheduled to shoot for more than 100 days in Jakarta.
