'X-Men: Days of Future Past' - Halle Berry return uncertain

By
X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer has revealed that Halle Berry's involvement in the film is uncertain.

The Jack The Giant Slayer helmer has brought back numerous cast members from the original X-Men trilogy for the sequel but the Storm actress remains a glaring omission.

"I can't say. I don't know yet. And it's not necessarily a deal making aspect at all. I want to make sure it'll make sense," he told MTV when asked whether Berry is on board for the project.

Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman are among the original trilogy stars returning to the series, alongside X-Men: First Class actors such as James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.

Singer also revealed that the film's ensemble cast will all play an important role in the story, dismissing the notion that they were brought back for publicity purposes.

"I don't want to say who the protagonists are yet, or talk about that yet, but I will say that every character has a very important function in the story," he added.

"The story is designed and catered to the combined cast. It's not just throwing in people to occupy the screen, occupy the billboards."

X-Men: Days of Future Past will debut on July 18, 2014.
