Bryan Singer has tweeted the first look at X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The director unveiled a picture of two wheelchairs for his two Professor Xs.

"Hello old friends #XMen #DaysofFuturePast," he wrote on Twitter.

The time travel tale will feature James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart as younger and older versions of the X-Men's telepathic mentor Charles Xavier.

The film will also see Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore reprising their roles from the various earlier instalments of 20th Century Fox's franchise.

Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage has become the latest addition to the cast. He has been rumoured to portray Sentinel inventor Bollivar Trask.

Singer has said that the film represents an opportunity for him to "correct a few things" from the previous films.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will debut on July 18, 2014.
