'Iron Man 3' premiere: Robert Downey Jr, Rebecca Hall, Ben Kingsley attend

By

Robert Downey Jr brought Tony Stark to London last night (April 18) for the UK premiere of Iron Man 3.

Marvel's blockbuster sequel sees Stark in a personal crisis following the events of the New York attack in The Avengers. When the super-soldier Extremis drug falls into the wrong hands, new foes emerge in the form of the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) and Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce).

Downey Jr made a dramatic entrance at the premiere, emerging on a smoke-filled podium before throwing his sunglasses into the crowd. He then ran down the stairs and pulled another pair of glasses out of his jacket.

British actress Rebecca Hall, who plays Maya Hansen in Iron Man 3, also walked the red carpet alongside co-stars Kingsley, Don Cheadle, director Shane Black and screenwriter Drew Pearce.

Les Misérables star Samantha Barks, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, X Factor's Dermot O'Leary and JLS duo Oritsé Williams and JB Gill were all in attendance at the event.
