Philip Seymour Hoffman, Christina Hendricks for 'God's Pocket'

Philip Seymour Hoffman will star in God's Pocket.

Variety reports that Hoffman will star as a blue-collar man who attempts to cover up the death of his stepson in a freak construction accident.

Directed by John Slattery in his feature debut, God's Pocket will also star Richard Jenkins, John Turturro and Slattery's Mad Men co-star Christina Hendricks.

Slattery and Alex Metcalf co-wrote the screenplay, which is adapted from Pete Dexter's novel of the same name.

Hoffman recently finished shooting The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and Anton Corbijn's John le Carré adaptation A Most Wanted Man.

Slattery has directed four episodes of Mad Men to date, including the most recent sixth season episode 'Man with a Plan'.
