'Watch Dogs', 'Far Cry', 'Rabbids' movies planned by Ubisoft

Ubisoft is planning movies based on Watch Dogs, Far Cry and Rabbids.

The company has set up deals with Warner Bros and 20th Century Fox as part of Ubisoft Motion Pictures' phase two, reports Variety.

The French game publisher has lined up its three properties as Hollywood projects.

It already has Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell films set up at New Regency.

Michael Fassbender is attached to Assassin's Creed while Tom Hardy will star in Splinter Cell.

Ubisoft will retain creative control in its movie division for all the films and finance the development of the scripts.

UMP CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet will be in charge of hiring screenwriters, directors and cast members and choosing the production shingles and studios the company will work with.

Far Cry and Rabbids are pre-established franchises, while Watch Dogs will not debut its first game until November 22 in Europe and November 19 in North America.
