Speaking at the Ischia Global Film & Music Fest, the Italian actor said that the film will be set in 1915 and detail the final chapter in Django's life.

The character becomes a consultant on Wild West films in the early days of cinema.

Sergio Corbucci's 1966 original Django starred Nero in the title role.

The actor has only appeared in three of the many films inspired by the 1966 original, including a cameo in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.
