Garfield will play a man who, after losing his home to foreclosure, takes a job with the real estate broker who saw him evicted.

He finds himself in the position of evicting homeowners and helping embezzle money from the government, and it is only a matter of time before his conscience catches up with him.

The award-winning filmmaker Bahrani's previous movies include Man Push Cart and, most recently, the Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron-starring At Any Price.

Garfield recently wrapped shooting on The Amazing Spider-Man 2. He is also attached to Martin Scorsese's Silence.

99 Homes will be produced by Kevin Turen and Justin Nappi, who are currently seeking an actor for the role of the broker.
