Johnny Knoxville: 'I was spiked with Ecstasy during Bad Grandpa'

Johnny Knoxville has revealed that he was drugged with Ecstasy during the shoot of Bad Grandpa.

The Jackass star was injured during a screening of the upcoming comedy after a frat house student spiked his drink.

Knoxville - who plays an elderly man in the Jackass spinoff - filmed one scene as his crew tested out the movie for its target audience.

He told The Sun: "We were filming a promo for Bad Grandpa at a frat house in Arizona. I was dressed as Irving and was sitting in the audience with the students and people kept handing me drinks and someone dosed me with Ecstasy.

"About 30 minutes into the screening, my heart starts racing and I'm like, 'I am x-ing right now, someone dosed me.' I was so happy because I haven't done x since my 20s."

However, he added that his trip ended with a nasty injury, saying: "For the rest of the shoot I was just a train wreck, and we got a lot of funny stuff.

"But at some point I ruptured the tendon in my finger either busting through a table or climbing up a net."

Bad Grandpa centres on an 86-year-old character named Irving Zisman on a road trip he takes across America with his grandson Billy (Jackson Nicoll).

The comedy will open in cinemas on October 23. Watch a trailer below:
