Reporters have swarmed the set of the action thriller since the Avengers actress arrived last week.

Besson's crew were nearly involved in an accident with a car driven by members of the local press.

Taipei mayor Hau Lung-bin said in a statement that the "dangerous action" occurred due to the media neglecting prearranged coverage arrangements.

Besson is considering returning to Europe before the weekend.

Lucy tells the tale of a drug mule (Johansson) who gains superpowers after coming into contact with an experimental drug.

The film is scheduled for release in 2014.
