'50 Shades of Grey': 'Wolverine' writer to improve script

Fifty Shades of Grey has added a new member to its screenwriting team.

Mark Bomback has been hired to help improve the script for the upcoming movie adaptation, according to The Wrap.

Universal and Focus have teamed up for the film version of El James's best-selling erotic novel, with Kelly Marcel originally hired to adapt the script with Patrick Marber (Closer).

Bomback has worked on several Universal projects, including recent instalments of the Fast & Furious franchise and the upcoming Dracula reboot.

He is best known for writing action movies such as Unstoppable, The Wolverine and Live Free or Die Hard.

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will play the lead roles in Fifty Shades of Grey, with Sam Taylor-Johnson directing.

The film is scheduled to be released on August 1, 2014.
