Term Life was dropped by Universal late last month for unknown reasons.

The film will chronicle Vaughn as a man being hunted by the mob, who must stay alive for three weeks until his life insurance kicks in to support his estranged daughter.

Steinfeld will play his on-screen daughter in the graphic novel adaptation, which was originally published by Image Comics.

Andy Lieberman has written the script, with Iron Man producer Peter Billingsley set to direct.

Term Life star Vince, Victoria Vaughn and Micah Mason will produce the project through their company Wild West Picture Show with QED's Bill Block and Worldview's Christopher Woodrow and Molly Conners.

Filming is slated to begin next year.
