Chris Pratt in talks for the lead role in 'Jurassic World'

Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt is eying his next big screen role in Jurassic World.

The Parks and Recreation actor is thought to be in talks for the lead role.

Pratt is said to be a top candidate for the next instalment of the Jurassic franchise, The Wrap reports.

Life of Pi star Irrfan Khan is also reportedly up for the lead role in the 3D sequel.

Josh Brolin was previously reported to be in talks for the role but failed to ink a deal.

Jurassic World has already cast The Help's Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson of Melissa and Joey and Insidious' Ty Simpkins.

The film will be released in the US on June 12, 2015, while plot details surrounding Jurassic World have been kept under wraps.

Universal is yet to comment on the casting speculation involving Pratt.
