"It's meant to start shooting in October," Fiennes said.

Daniel Craig will return as James Bond for the fourth time in the currently untitled project, while Sam Mendes will direct for a second time. Skyfall co-writer John Logan will pen the script.

Fiennes added: "I haven't read a script yet, so I can't tell you much. They'd probably swear me to secrecy anyway."

The 24th film in the James Bond series is scheduled for release a year later on October 23, 2015.

Skyfall's veteran cinematographer Roger Deakins will not rejoin Sam Mendes on the upcoming movie.
