Ghost Rider 2 directors joke: 'The X-Men should erase our film'

The directors of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance have joked that they want their movie to be erased by the time-travelling X-Men.

X-Men: Days of Future Past sees Wolverine head back in time to change the history of the mutant race.

Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who directed the Ghost Rider sequel, tweeted from their joint account, saying: "vaughn xmen change the future to eradicate ratner universe, could they eradicate all ghost rider universes while they're at it?"




Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance star Nicolas Cage came out in support of the pair in a 2013 interview, saying: "I think people need to know we did that on a shoestring budget.

"When you look at it that way you see the enormous talent of Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, that they were able to accomplish that."

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, which starred Nicolas Cage and Idris Elba, failed to match the success of its predecessor at the box office.
