The film is the final instalment in the franchise and the first Die Hard film to hit the cinema in 12 years.
Willis told the BBC at the film's premiere: "I used to bounce off the concrete a lot easier than I do now.
"There were a couple of weeks where from my hip to my ankle I was black and blue. I got knocked out, I got some stitches. I wish I'd kept a scrapbook!"
Die Hard 4.0 is released in the UK on July 4.
