The Departed director Martin Scorsese is reportedly to reunite with Robert De Niro in a forthcoming gangster film.
The pair have collaborated on eight different film projects in the past including Raging Bull and Goodfellas.
They are now to return after De Niro took time to film a number of recent comedies.
The mob crime drama, Frankie Machine, will tell the story of a retired hitman (De Niro) who returns to the world of crime.
Pre-production for the film is scheduled to begin shortly.
