Evan Almighty has topped the US box office chart.
A spin-off from Bruce Almighty, the film sees Steve Carrell take the lead role while Morgan Freeman plays the part of God.
1408 took the second place spot, knocking superhero adventure Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer down into third.
