Radcliffe regrets 'Potter' death wish

Daniel Radcliffe has admitted that he no longer wants JK Rowling to kill off Harry Potter in the final book of the series.

The 17-year-old actor, who plays the boy wizard in the movie adaptations, admitted that was keen to film a death scene earlier this year. However, Radcliffe now thinks that killing off Harry would be "too obvious".

"I wish I'd never said that. And I have started to think his death might be too obvious a route to go down," Daniel told the Daily Record. "But I have no idea and I know nothing about the new book."

Asked about his long-term career plans, Radcliffe replied: "I don't want to disown Harry Potter. I'd never want to step away from Harry Potter completely. I'm immensely proud of it.

"But I think eventually people will see me as an actor in my own right, rather than just the boy who plays Harry Potter. It'll be a very long process and I don't think it'll be achieved by one, two or even three jobs."
