Kevin Costner is to make an internet-based cartoon series about 19th Century explorers, it has been reported.
The Oscar winning actor is making 12 four-minute episodes of The Explorers Club, according to industry publication Variety.
Costner will also voice the creations which he apparently hopes will gather fans ahead of a live-action movie version.
Animators The Chiodo Brothers are said to be lined up.
Costner said: "Each episode is clever and visual, it works as a series, and it has massive potential for the big screen.
"As a film-maker, I was excited by the opportunities to draw an audience into a story in a new way."
