A third Ace Ventura movie is to begin shooting in September.
Nancy Drew actor Josh Flitter, 12, will play the son of Ace Ventura, who follows in his father's footsteps by becoming a pet detective.
Jim Carrey, who starred in 1994's Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and 1995's Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, will not appear in the movie.
The film is to be directed by David M. Evans, who previously helmed two straight-to-DVD Beethoven sequels.
