Simpson turned down porn star role

Jessica Simpson's father has revealed that the actress turned down a porn star role.

Speaking at the ABC Television Critics Association party in Beverly Hills, Joe Simpson - who works as the star's manager - admitted that he did not want his daughter to accept the offer, despite promises that it would do wonders for her career.

"We were promised we would win an Oscar with that," Joe told People. "I was like: 'We'll just buy a statue of a little man and keep our clothes on.'"

Asked about his daughter's future plans, Joe added: "Jessica has three more movies to shoot; she has a new record coming in September. If the right role came up, of course, we'd never turn that down."
