Cowell plans 'X Factor' style movie

Simon Cowell is planning to make a movie based on the audition process for shows such as X Factor and American Idol.

With a working title of Starstruck, the film will follow the lives of ten contestants competing in a TV singing contest.

Cowell told The Hollywood Reporter: "The story is told through the eyes of those 10 contestants. We want it to be the musical version of Rocky - an underdog story, a feelgood film."

The movie is supposedly inspired by the '80s musical Fame and is due for release next summer.
