Actor Leonardo DiCaprio hopes that his new green documentary The 11th Hour can alter people's views on the environment.
The Titanic star's 90-minute movie, which highlights the ways in which humans, the government and corporate action can combine to help improve the environment, is to be screened for the first time on Friday.
Speaking about the possible outcome of the documentary, DiCaprio told Reuters: "It would have been pretty easy to make a film completely about doomsday scenarios, but people need to leave the theater and feel like they are somewhat responsible and make the simple choice to be active in the movement."
Kenny Ausubel, a founder of environmental group Bioneers that worked on the movie, said: "To leave people [with a doomsday view], would be like, 'What do I do now, go home and shoot myself?'
He added: "The solutions are here, We already know what to do in most cases and even when we don't, we know what directions to head in."
