Keanu Reeves to star in '50s movie remake

Keanu Reeves has signed up to star in a remake of 1950s movie The Day the Earth Stood Still.
The Matrix actor will play the part of a humanoid alien, Klaatu, who comes down to earth with a heavily armed robot.
According to Variety, Reeves' character will warn people on earth to stop being so aggressive, in order to avoid the complete destruction of their species.
