The Shawshank Redemption has been named as the 'most inspirational movie' in a survey, beating the likes of Forrest Gump and Schindler's List.
The 1995 movie, which starred Morgan Freeman and was based on one of Stephen King's novels, told the story of two prisoners who form a lifelong friendship.
It was voted for by a poll of 2,000 film fans, conducted by film and music store HMV.
Schindler's List came in at second place, while Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump was voted in third.
Billy Elliott, Erin Brockovich and Titanic were also in the top ten.
Head of DVD sales at HMV, Charles Fotheringham, said that Shawshank Redemption is the perfect example of how movies can have an "enduring capacity to inspire" people.
