Irish director Neil Jordan's new film The Brave One, starring Jodie Foster, has debuted at number one in the US box office chart.
Although the thriller received bad reviews before its release, it took over $14 million and pushed 3:10 to Yuma to second place after just one week at the top.
Mr. Woodcock also debuted in the top ten in third place, as did Dragon Wars, entering the chart in fourth.
Meanwhile Superbad dropped down two places to fifth.
