Blanchett used stuffed sock to be a man
Actress Cate Blanchett has admitted that she put a stuffed sock down her trousers to help her feel like a man in her new movie I'm Not There.

Blanchett, who plays singer Bob Dylan in the film, claims the imitation penis helped her strut like a member of the opposite sex.

The Hollywood star is quoted as saying: "My friend put a sock down my trousers and that kind of helped me walk like a man. My husband Andrew wouldn't come near me. He was utterly repulsed by it."

The Aviator actress, who is tipped to win an Oscar for her performance as Dylan during his folk years, added that this wasn't the only change she had to make to her physical appearance for the role.

She commented: "I had to strap those breasts down and just go for it!"

I'm Not There will be released in cinemas at the start of 2008.
