Jude Law has claimed that he doesn't regret making the film Alfie, despite its poor critical reception.

The actor insists that although it is considered a flop by many, the remake of the 1966 Michael Caine classic actually helped finance his divorce from Sadie Frost.

Law told Empire: "It proved that the film was more a film of its time and it didn't work now. But there's no point playing safe all the time.

"And Alfie paid me more money than any other film's ever paid. You know, paid for my divorce!"
