Greenwood to play Pike in new 'Star Trek'

Bruce Greenwood has signed up to appear as Captain Pike in the new Star Trek movie.
Greenwood, who starred in I, Robot and Déjà Vu, will play the original captain of the Starship Enterprise.
Captain Pike appeared in the original pilot episode of the TV show and turned up again for a double episode late on.
The JJ Abrams-directed film has reportedly already begun shooting and will star Eric Bana as the villain and have British comedian Simon Pegg in the role of Scotty.
The 11th movie in the Star Trek franchise is expected to hit cinemas in December 2008.
