The movie tells the story of a middle-aged dad who wakes up to find himself aged 17 again.
The father then decides to enrol at his children's school so he can keep an eye on them.
Perry will play the father, with High School Musical star Efron playing the younger, 17-year-old version.
Knocked Up actress Leslie Mann will play Perry's onscreen wife, while Burr Steers directs.
The movie is due to begin shooting in early December.
