Jolie came second in The Hollywood Reporter's annual list, earning a similar amount to Witherspoon. However, she only took a pay check of $8 million (£4 million) for her latest film Beowulf.
Diaz was revealed as the third highest-paid actress, while Nicole Kidman slipped two places in the list to fourth place.
Renee Zellweger, Sandra Bullock and Julia Roberts also have a $10 to $15 million price-tag for their movies in the 'Women in Entertainment: Power 100' list.
Drew Barrymore and Jodie Foster were next in the payment stakes with $10 to $12 million per project, while Halle Berry commands $10 million.
