Michelle Trachtenberg and Melora Hardin have signed up to appear in high school comedy 17, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie stars Zac Efron as a father who, after one morning waking to find he is 17 again, enrolls at the school that his children attend in order to keep an eye on them. Matthew Perry has been cast as the older version of Efron's character.

Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress Trachtenberg joins the cast as the daughter, who develops a crush on the younger version of her father. Hardin, who appears in the US incarnation of The Office, will play the principal.

Written by Jason Filardi and directed by Burr Steers, production will begin later this month.
