The poster campaign for Jonny Depp's new movie Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street has been scrapped due to a mistake over a picture of Big Ben.

The promotional poster for the musical adaptation features Depp sat in an attic skylight, with Big Ben pictured outside the glass roof.

Fans complained about the picture, pointing out that Sweeney Todd was based in the early 19th century, half a century before Big Ben was built.

Producers are planning to release a new poster campaign before the movie is released next month.

The Tim Burton-directed film will also star Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman and Sacha Baron Cohen.
