Smith is reportedly keen to spend a large sum of money on creating the film, which is rumoured to be called Ranger Danger and the Danger Rangers.
The director told MTV: "I think it would be kinda cool to go larger budget and shoot some effects on that one."
The Clerks director added that the only reason the film may not get made is if his current projects Zack and Miri Make A Porno and Red State are a flop.
He commented: "[It depends] on what happens with the next two [films]. They might try to stick me in movie jail. But I've f****ed up way worse in the past."
