Clooney reveals 'Batman and Robin' fears

Rex Features

Actor George Clooney has revealed that he feared for his Hollywood career after he starred in 1997's Batman and Robin.

Clooney's performance was unpopular with critics, and he believed at one point the action film may have ended his chances of appearing in future blockbusters.

However, the actor also believes that in the long-term the movie may have helped him achieve success by making him more selective with his film choices.

He is quoted as saying: "At that point I realised I'd better start picking better. My next three movies were Out Of Sight, Three Kings and O Brother, Where Art Thou?.

"It was, 'OK, at last I understand now what I want to do.'
