Stars including Daniel Radcliffe, Alan Rickman and Dame Maggie Smith were at the city's cathedral this morning to shoot scenes for Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince.
The 11th Century church and neighbouring King's School have been used as the location for Hogwarts School in two previous films in the franchise.
More than 170 pupils from King's will appear as extras in the movie, based on the penultimate novel in JK Rowling's series.
A spokeswoman said: "We're obviously thrilled to be hosting the sixth film. Some of the sixth-formers were in the previous films and are now in them again, so they've grown up with Harry Potter."
