The actor, who is best known for his roles in Phone Booth and Minority Report, admitted that he is happy with the prospect of continuing his work in front of the camera.
"Acting confuses me too much to go into directing," Farrell explained at the premiere of his new movie In Bruges.
"I've never had any particular plans in my career. I've just been very fortunate in the opportunities that have been put in my path. I just put a certain amount of good faith in the universe and keep plying my trade."
Farrell recently confessed that he was worried about ruining In Bruges, which also stars Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes.
