Six more join 'Twilight' cast

Six cast members have been confirmed for forthcoming vampire movie Twilight.

Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser and Jackson Rathbone will join leads Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the adaptation of Stephanie Meyer's books for young adults.

Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz have also signed to appear, playing blood-sucking members of the Cullen family.

The movie centres around teenager Bella Swan (Stewart), who falls for classmate Edward Cullen after moving to a small town to live with her dad. She discovers that he is a vampire and meets his family, all of whom are among the undead.

It is hoped that the film will develop into a franchise for Summit Entertainment, which owns the rights to all three books in the hugely successful series.

Catherine Hardwicke will direct the project from a script by Melissa Rosenberg.

It is scheduled to start filming later this month.
