The movie will be based on Charles Burns's 12-issue comic book series that follows a group of Seattle teenagers in the '70s who contract a sexually transmitted disease called "the Bug".
Fincher's next film is the Brad Pitt drama The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. He is also attached to direct graphic novel adaptations The Killer and Torso, and science-fiction film Rendezvous with Rama with Morgan Freeman.
